Order Autographed Copies of Lori Soard’s Books

, , 0

Dear Readers,

For the last few months, I’ve been building up my inventory of my paperback books to have on hand. So many of my readers have requested autographed copies of my books over the last year, and I’m now pleased to announce that you can order autographed copies of your favorites right here on my website.

Thanks to Square, I was able to set up an online store that will track inventory and work as a payment gateway. You can use any major credit card or a checking account to order.

The shipping cost is already calculated in. When you place your order, simply leave me a note about who you’d like it personalized to (yourself or as a gift) and make sure your name is listed the way you want it autographed.

I also will put a few extras into orders, depending upon what promotional items I have on hand (pens, notepads, magnets, etc.).

Thank you so much for all you support. I hope this is a convenient option for you to get autographed books.

Deep South Writing Retreat

, , , 0

writing retreatThis has been a whirlwind week for me. My almost 20-year-old daughter planned a cruise with her friends, but didn’t plan a way to the cruise. I decided to drive them to New Orleans as a one-time favor (next time, they’ll have to miss their cruise, because I consider this a learning experience and a mistake young people make once in their lives until they learn from that mistake).

It is normally an 11-hour drive to New Orleans from where I live, but took us 13. It’s a long story why. Part of it was traffic and part was people along for the ride who seem to enjoy taking their time at stops. We’ll be setting down some ground rules on the way home because I’m ready for my own bed.

I was able to visit one of my aunts who lives in Daphne and sneak in some family time and catching up. While there, I had the opportunity to go to Fairhope, Alabama. What a neat place. My aunt says a lot of artists and authors live there and I can see what. It is a picturesque town. There are shops filled with items made by local artisans. Pets are very welcomed there, so my little dog went along with me. She was welcomed in every store we went in and offered treats. The store owners put out bowls of water here and there along the sidewalk.

The town also sites on the bay with some gorgeous views. It is a very inspiring place, and I am thinking would make an ideal retreat at some point in the future to knock out another book or some short stories, etc. If you’ve never been there, I highly encourage you to check it out.

Tonight, I am tucked away, still in the deep south, working on Change of Heart, the second book in the Cupid’s Crossing series. Sinclaire’s spirit is so weary. She is a hard character for me to write because I tend to be very upbeat and happy. I am looking forward to the point in this story where she accepts God’s grace and starts to heal a bit. The weight of her discouragement is weighing on me and I’m trying to write things into the story to encourage her, but she is so very hurt and in pain.

Do you know someone like Sinclaire? How do you encourage that person? I’m also bringing the reader back into Gracie and Brandt’s lives as they plan their wedding and plant the first seeds for Brandt’s new pumpkin patch venture. This is the first series I’ve written and it is so much fun to catch up with these characters. Many of them feel like old friends. I can’t wait to complete this book and share it with you soon.

Until next time,

Lori

Lori Is Starting a Street Team

, , , 0

highwayYears ago, I had a street team called Troop Lori. I would love to revamp that idea and start a new street team (name to be decided). Promotions and publishing have changed so much in recent years. I envision the street team as an opportunity for both of us. I will provide my team with books, goodies, and gifts. In return, they will help spread the word about my books, post honest reviews, and we can interact with one another via a private Facebook group.

You’ll get sneak peeks of my new releases, too. If this sounds like something you might be interested in, fill out my street team application below.

Thanks!

Explore Cupid’s Crossing

2

I was so thrilled that Cupid’s Quest released this week in paperback and ebook. This is the first in my Cupid’s Crossing series. It is set in the fictional town of Cupid’s Crossing. If you’ve ever wondered how someone creates a fictional town, it isn’t easy, but it all starts with a map. You then assign characters to the different locations and leave a few open because you never know what characters might arrive on the scene. Below is a copy of the map I work from for this series. I hope you fall in love with Cupid’s Crossing the way I have. My only regret is that I can’t truly visit this town other than in my imagination.

Happy Valentine’s Day from Cupid’s Crossing!

, , , , 0

Happy Valentine’s Day! I am so thrilled to announce that the first book in my new Cupid’s Crossing series is available in paperback and for Kindle. Prime and Unlimited members can borrow it for free for the next three months.

The only life Gracie has ever known has been the nursing home and the residents who are like family to her. Now, she risks losing it all and her friends scattering to different homes if she can’t come up with the money to save the business.

Between caring for his ailing mother and running the family farm, Brandt is stretched thin. Too thin. When his mother begs him to enter a local scavenger hunt, win the prize money, and convert the farm into an orchard, he knows he can’t refuse her anything, so he reluctantly agrees.

While seeking clues to the scavenger hunt, Gracie and Brandt keep bumping into each other. Gracie’s always had a crush on him that keeps her from stringing two coherent words together. Brandt doesn’t understand why she dislikes him so much she won’t even talk to him. If the nursing home residents would settle down and stop getting into crazy shenanigans long enough, the two might figure out that they have more than a little in common.

I hope you enjoy Gracie and Brandt’s story as much as I enjoyed writing it. I’m off to work some more on Sinclaire’s story for Book # 2 in the series.

Blessings!

Lori

Meet Sinclaire and Ace

Cupid’s Quest, the first book in my Cupid’s Crossing series will release on February 14th, so I’m already hard at work on book # 2 for the series, titled Change of Heart. Now that I’m releasing my books myself, I get to control all aspects of the creative process right down to choosing cover models.

In Change of Heart, Sinclaire takes the lead as the heroine. You will get to know Sinclaire in Cupid’s Quest as Gracie’s best friend and a single mom to a three-year-old boy. Yes, Sinclaire has a past, even though this is a Christian romance. Shocking, I know, but also very realistic. You see, the theme of this book is straight from Romans.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3: 23-24

This book is all about redemption and grace through God’s forgiveness.

I hope you’ll share this journey with me as I come to know Sinclaire and Ace a little better. Their story is not an easy, fairy tale type story, but I promise that the struggle will be worth it in the end.

Love,

Lori
