2022 Christmas Scavenger Hunt Round-Robin: Cupid’s Quest
Merry Christmas! Welcome to the Christmas Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt! I’ll be focusing on my inspirational romance–Cupid’s Quest–for my part of this scavenger hunt.
Here’s how it works: At each author’s blog post, you will find a question that can be answered by checking out the free Amazon preview of their book. Don’t worry, I’ll give you a link to Cupid’s Quest and you can find the answer inside the LOOK INSIDE. Provide the answer at this form. Note: You must answer the questions for every author in the round-robin to be considered to win the $250 first place, $150 second place or $100 third place Amazon gift cards. These prizes are USD values. If you are not a U.S. resident, you will get a gift card from the Amazon store for your country; however, it will be valued at these USD amounts.)
At the end of my post is a link to the next blog, who will provide a link to the next blog, etc., to the very end, creating a circle (a round-robin) visit through all of the authors’ blogs.
About Cupid’s Quest by Lori Soard

I’m so excited to share a little about the first book in my Cupid’s Crossing series with you–CUPID’S QUEST.
They’re just like family to her and she can’t imagine losing them or this place…
What if you were about to lose everything you ever knew or loved?
Saving Those She Loves…
The only life Gracie has ever known has been the nursing home and the residents who are like family to her. Now, she risks losing it all and her friends scattering to different homes if she can’t come up with the money to save the business.
Granting a Mother’s Last Wish…
Between caring for his ailing mother and running the family farm, Brandt is stretched thin. Too thin. When his mother begs him to enter a local scavenger hunt, win the prize money, and convert the farm into an orchard, he knows he can’t refuse her anything, so he reluctantly agrees.
Finding True Love…
While seeking clues to the scavenger hunt, Gracie and Brandt keep bumping into each other. Gracie’s always had a crush on him that keeps her from stringing two coherent words together. Brandt doesn’t understand why she dislikes him so much she won’t even talk to him. If the nursing home residents would settle down and stop getting into crazy shenanigans long enough, the two might figure out that they have more than a little in common.
I love my small Hoosier town. This series is set in a town I created that represents two different small towns I’ve lived in over the years in the beautiful and welcoming state of Indiana. Small towns have a magical quality to them, where everyone knows you and neighbors will lend a helping hand. True they will talk about your business when they shouldn’t, but sometimes it winds up being a helpful thing. Always, there is caring and a strong sense of community.
It makes sense to put CUPID’S QUEST in our Christmas scavenger hunt, because the characters in my book go on a zany adventure on their own scavenger hunt. I hope you enjoy this inspirational, Christian romance as much as I enjoyed writing it. It’s on sale for only 99 cents just for this event through December 11th at 10 a.m. EST.
Hint: You can also read Ben’s story in this series by signing up for my newsletter at the top of this page.
Let’s begin this scavenger hunt! Go to the book on Amazon at this link. Check out the Look Inside for CUPID’S QUEST.
Read a bit and find the answer to this question:
What is the name of Gracie’s small retirement home?
When you have the answer, FILL OUT THIS FORM and head on to the next blog!
Thank you so much for visiting! The next author on the tour is Hallee Bridgeman, who is telling us all about her Christmas book Blizzard in the Bluegrass. You can find it at this link. Remember that the round-robin will end on December 11th at 11:59 PM EST!
Pre-Order GO WITH THE FLO Today!
Dear readers,
I’m so excited to announce the upcoming release of my Cupid’s Crossing book, an inspirational small town romance. I recently remade covers, revamped the series to be a little different and am in the process of swapping out all of that.
Go with the Flo is now book # 3 in the Cupid’s Crossing series.
Florence Feldman is just another Flo at the local diner in Cupid’s Crossing. Her life hasn’t always been easy, but dealing with an ailing father and facing the prospect of losing their family farm is almost more than she can stand. When Adam Eddison enters the picture, she wonders why she’s attracted to the new banker who is so intent on making sure she loses her family’s generations-long legacy.
If you love Hallmark movies…
If you can’t get enough of saving the family farm, town event, etc…
If you adore true love, happy endings and family commitment…
You won’t want to miss Go With the Flo
Writing and the Pandemic
Dearest readers,
It has been a long and grueling year for most of us. I keep starting my next book, stopping, starting something else, stopping. I just can’t seem to get in the groove of pre-pandemic.
For one thing, how do I handle the whole pandemic thing? Is life going back to normal? Do I put masks on my characters or not? Do I just ignore COVID-19 like it never happened or do my characters mention it? It’s so hard to know what to do.
Reading Is an Escape
People typically read fiction to escape their everyday lives. Many of us are sick of the way the world has been closed and we’ve been shut off from family and friends for so long. If reading is an escape, should there be a pandemic in my fictional world?
At the same time, I don’t want my readers to pick up my book and think it seems unrealistic. I know I’m overthinking things and I promise I will have something new for you soon.
Not a Romance
While romance will always be my first love when writing, this newest series is not a romance. It’s about a group of women, similar to my Lipstick Diaries book. I hope you’ll come to love them as much as I have. They are dealing with some pretty big issues, which I’ll share more about pre-release. I think you’re going to enjoy the series.
I know they say to know your genre before you write. That would be smart, but this book was screaming at me to be written, so I just went for it and I’ll figure out the genre later. Let’s just say any woman over the age of 40 will likely relate to something in this series.
Until then, I’ll keep plugging away at my latest books and keep you posted on how it’s going.
Love you!
Lori
Visit Me in Moonstone Falls
MOONSTONE FALLS
The town of Moonstone Falls is a fictional town. Why moonstone? The legend of the moonstone has always been steeped in mystery. Sri Lanka is a place known for the pale white/bluish gemstones you may be used to seeing, but they are in the class of feldspar. They are also found in the United States. Of course, the colorations can be different, depending on where the moonstone is from.
Moonstone Falls is like any other small town in southern Indiana. Quiet, unassuming. However, under the surface bubbles another world. A world where strange gems are found at a local limestone waterfall and for which towns are named.
In 1853, Henry Vialla was exploring the forestry surrounding his town when he discovered a beautiful limestone waterfall and clear pool deep inside the forest. At the bottom of the pool of water shone something brilliant. He dove to the bottom of the pool of water and found a beautiful necklace with fine metal twisted into the shape of a tree with a beautiful moonstone behind. The gem changed colors in the sunlight.
Henry soon discovered the curse of the necklace and his discovery forever changed him, his descendants, and the town. Shortly after, a jeweler identified the gem as moonstone and when the founders chose a name for the town, they chose Moonstone Falls to signify that discovery and the way their small settlement was already changing.
Current day, Moonstone Falls is one town during the day and quite another at night. From strange marks on the bodies that show up at the town’s morgue to the town’s sheriff who protects the townspeople from dangers they have no idea exist, Moonstone Falls is a dangerous and unique place.
Vampires and werewolves? They don’t exist. Or, do they?

I Deleted My Mailing List
Every once in a while, I get a bright idea like cleaning up my newsletter list. In an effort to segment out all the bouncing addresses, I somehow managed to delete my entire list of readers. No, it wasn’t all backed up and I have no idea how I did it. As much as I’d like to blame Mailchimp for the blunder, I’m pretty sure it is 100% my fault. I was pretty upset for a bit but then I remember that I’ve been wondering if I could move my list to another email server or if I should clean it up a bit so it reaches my target audience (loyal fans) better. Maybe this is just God’s way of taking care of that for me. Continue reading “I Deleted My Mailing List”
